FIT Cycling – 2018 program

Our cycling program for 2018 is ready to roll! In addition to the regular training groups, we will run two programs in early 2018. Members may also be training for various events across the year (list below).

Members interested in staying ‘in the loop’ can join the FIT Cycling Basecamp (link via Newflash, or contact Emma). There is usually brekky organised somewhere after every ride.

JANUARY

Not-A-Novice-Anymore (NANA)

Structured training group targeting hilly events the first weekend of March (~70km, Orange or Canberra). Suitable for riders who have completed a rookie/novice program. Eight Wednesdays from 10 January. Limited places, cost $40.

FEBRUARY:

Rookie Cycling 

A five week training program for novice riders targeting the ‘Big Canberra Bike Ride’. Suitable for those wishing to gain bike confidence and learn to ride with others. Cost $50. Flyer and rego info coming soon.

MARCH:

Hot Cross Bunnies Ride

Friday 30 March. 6.00 for 6.15 departure. A social ride for members of all abilities – follow the bunny to find the hot cross bun.

MAY-AUG:

Winter training

Indoor training, details TBA. Cost per session for room hire.

Intermediate Friday Group continues throughout winter.

SEPT-OCT:

Spring programs (additional NANA or Rookie program) can be organised if there is demand. If you want to ride in spring, come out of hibernation and just join in with the existing group sessions.

DECEMBER: 

Jingle Bells Ride 2018 

Wed 19 Dec 2018 – A social ride for all FIT members to finish off the year. Deck your bike its bells and whistles, as we ride around spreading Xmas cheer.
