SWIMMING/WATER RUNNING
WEEKLY COACHED SESSIONS
FIT has several sessions each week in both swimming and water running.
SWIMMING
FIT has several swimming lanes, so there's room to stretch out and do some laps and drills and practice stroke improvement. Different levels are catered for -- all levels welcome.
Monday, 6.45pm-7.45pm,Girls Grammar School Pool, Deakin.
Cost: $4.00 to cover pool hire (please give this to the coach on the night).
- FIT coaches will provide a program for three lanes - two lanes with a focus on fitness, and one lane with a focus on skills.
- A further lane is open for you to follow your own program.
- The pool is located on the corner of Melbourne Avenue and Empire Circuit. Please park on Empire Circuit, rather than in the Grammar car park and do not park on people's verges.
- If you walk up a small set of steps from Empire Circuit leading to the basketball courts, the pool is on your right hand side (down a set of steps into the adjacent building).
- FIT is fortunate to have the CGGS available. Please follow these house rules:
- please do not arrive at the pool before 6.30pm (not even to get changed)
- everyone must be gone from the pool at 8.15pm so the pool operator can secure the building
Remember to take your goggles and swim cap.
Wednesday, 6.50pm - 8pm, CISAC Pool, Belconnen
- Cost - Contribution of $3 per session for lane hire - please give this to the FIT coach; plus pool entry fee ($4.50 if you tell CISAC staff on entering that you are with FIT).
- Meet coaches at the shallow end of the pool, add your name to the attendance sheet.
- The coach will discuss plans for the evening's session before everyone gets in the water at 7pm for an hour of skills development and training.

WATER RUNNING
Water running is tougher than you might think -- but because your whole body is supported, it's great for general recovery after other training and for rehab if you have an injury. Lots of members who run/cycle swear by a weekly water running session to aid recovery and build strength and endurance.
Monday, 6.15am-7.15am, Civic Pool
FIT member Di Evans conducts this session.
Cost: $6 pool entry + $3 for lane hire (please give the $3 to Di).
Remember to take your goggles and swim cap.
