Retiring Coaches

At the FIT Christmas Party on Sunay 15 December, two of our longest-serving coaches were thanked and rewarded for the time they put into the club.

Beth Peedom

Beth has been run leader for the gentle-paced group for many years. During that time, Beth has encouraged and supported many runners, from runners who have never run, runners fresh out of Rookie Running and runners managing or returning from injury.  Her focus has been to reinforce good running techniques, encourage and extend runners and to have fun! Beth loves to run and loves to see others running. Beth’s skills have been recognised with Coach of the Year in 2016. We are sad that Beth, due to an ankle issue, is winding back her leadership responsibilities but look forward to still enjoying FIT runs (on soft surfaces) with Beth.

Thanks Beth!

Lindy Dunn

After 20+ years coaching, with both FIT and others, our most wonderful swim coach Lindy Dunn is retiring from coaching. We are incredibly privileged to have had Lindy’s time and dedication over the years, and it’s no exaggeration to say that hundreds of swimmers – from novices to elites – have benefited from her expertise over the years. We hope to continue to see her around the FIT traps, but you’ll be most likely to find her on the golf course, as the new president of the Royal Canberra Golf Club. Huge congratulations on this new appointment, and a huge thankyou for all of your hard work for us, Lindy!
