UPCOMING CYCLING EVENT – Five Peaks Challenge

Rotary Rides Canberra Five Peaks Challenge — Sunday 29 April 2018

This non-competitive cyclo-sportive event provides a great challenge to ride the six peaks of Canberra – Mount Stromlo, Red Hill, Mount Pleasant, Mount Ainslie and Black Mountain as well as Dairy Farmers Hill (in the Arboretum). It is historically named ‘Five Peaks Challenge’ but since 2015, when Dairy Farmers Hill was added, it has six peaks for you. That’s a 30% bonus!

There are two ride lengths (117 km or 88 km) within which you have the option to choose which peaks you climb and which ones you by-pass. Take on all six peaks for a total elevation gain of about 2,000m on the longer ride and 1,450m on the shorter ride – but you can bypass any (or all) the peaks if necessary for less climbing. And there are food stations and support available on the course.

And this is a great way to see Canberra from your saddle.
